Ballet Arizona Student Matinees invite young people to experience professional dance productions, during the school day, at a very low cost. A Student Matinee reservation entitles each group to:
a 45 – 50 minute version of one of our regular-season productions, suitable for students at all grade levels. a question-and-answer, “Meet the Dancers” session after the performance. the downloadable, full-color, multi-level study guide, Entree! This will allow you to incorporate Student Matinees into your lesson plans, create cross-curricular ties, and prepare your students for an exciting and enjoyable performance experience (available Sep. 1).

Groups and individuals must make reservations in advance in order to attend Student Matinees. No reservations can be accepted by phone. You must reserve a seat for every member of your group. (Bus and van drivers admitted free.)

A $5 processing fee is added to each order. Ballet Arizona accepts checks, money orders, credit cards, or school district purchase orders. Please do not send cash. Orders do not need to be prepaid, but orders without payment or a purchase order are not confirmed and seats may be released in the event of a sell-out. Reservations are subject to availability due to limited seating.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream Thursday, November 4 Admission - $4
Artistic Director Ib Andersen’s fanciful staging of this Shakespeare classic comes to life at Symphony Hall, set to the score by Felix Mendelssohn and accompanied by The Phoenix Symphony. This interpretation of the comedic tale of quarrelling fairies, meddling sprites, human lovers, and mistaken identities is a magical production for the entire family.

Ib Andersen's The Nutcracker Wednesday/Thursday, December 15/16 Two shows; admission - $4
This beloved holiday favorite continues to enchant audiences of the young and young at heart with its magic and beauty. Join Ballet Arizona to experience the wonder of the holiday season come to life in this splendid production of The Nutcracker! From the duel between the Nutcracker and the Mouse King, to the swirling snowflakes, to the elegance of the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier, The Nutcracker will take you on a journey of magic and wonderment.

Don Quixote Thursday, February 10 Admission - $4
Regarded as one of the most vibrant and entertaining ballets performed today, this evening-length ballet follows the antics of the beautiful Kitri; in love with a poor man, but betrothed to a rich one. With choreography after Petipa, Don Quixote is world-renowned for its displays of pyrotechnic dancing, light-hearted libretto, and rousing score.

Confirmation: Confirmation of your order will be emailed to your group's contact person within one week of its receipt by Ballet Arizona. Additional information, including directions to Symphony Hall and parking instructions, will be sent approximately one month prior to each performance you request.
Transportation: Transportation to the performance is the responsibility your group. Parking will be provided for buses and commercial vans. Parking is not provided for private vehicles.
